Kris' Ecto 1 Project
First of all I just wanted to say thank you :merci: to all of you for being so welcoming.
Secondly, I present my Ecto-1 Project. This Cadillac 1959 Miller Meteor Futura Ambulance is very rough. There is much rust and I am no where near as skilled as DrCaron or DrLauzon...

Re: Kris' Ecto 1 Project
I know some guy did gave life back to a pile of rusted junk and made a DeLorean out of it ( the Vixen Project ), but still... This car seems pretty damaged. Good luck to you !
Re: Kris' Ecto 1 Project
Well it's not so bad, at least you've got no holes in your top !! Did you make a calendar of work?

Re: Kris' Ecto 1 Project
I planned to put the doors back on next time I worked on the car. I noticed that you put the bracing up bordering the front doors. I'll measure the interior and have the bracing welded so that it can be placed in the car. I'll clean everything up and begin taking the floor apart piece by piece. Hopefully I haven't screwed everything up already

Very Very nice work. When it is finished it will no doubt be one of the nicest Ectos on the entire planet. I was wondering how you removed your floors so nicely, without damaging the frame... Every time I think about taking mine out, I fear that I might mess the frame up.

You must get me confused with someone else... I know nothing about cars. Ask Dr.Caron, he's the expert.
It is a nice car, a long project but a nice car. Take your time, don't rush things, and you will have a killer ecto soon.

Hi Kris , we begin in the rear section , we use the grinder to remove all the spot weld to remove the floor without damaging the frame or lip of the sides, we put a brace in the rear over the axle to be sure the side don't move
Re: Kris' Ecto 1 Project
If you looking for full floor section here the link to my new topic on theecto1.

Re: Kris' Ecto 1 Project
I was wondering if I could get a little help, I am looking for the following parts at good prices.
A Front Grill
The Front Grill Extensions
The Center Bar Extensions (batwings)
Hood Lip Chrome
The Lower Section of the Front Bumper Ends
The Hood Latch and support, etc...
The fender chrome
The Radiator Support
The Upper Doors (I have found three of the four but I think I will need the back drivers side one)
Please post or PM me if you have any information.
Thanks a lot,
Kris

encountered any bad surprises?
keep up the good work.
There are a few problems we ran into. We need to replace the drivers side hood hinge. We need to replace the driver side of the back bumper end (found a small hole) and we also need to replace the bottom door hinge for the back passenger side. Anyone have any idea where I can acquire any of those?
Kris
